Channel 4 viewers 'switch off' minutes into new drama Generation Z

Send Push

Channel 4 aired the gruesome horror Generation Z on Sunday (October 27), but some viewers were underwhelmed by the zombie series.

The show opened in the quiet town of Danbury, where an army convoy overturns, and a chemical leak has an immediate effect on the residents of a nearby care home.

The OAPs immediately savage their care staff and break out of the home to find fresh young meat. Sue Johnston, Robert Lindsay, Anita Dobson, and Johnny Vegas star in the gory mini-series, which has divided viewers.

Generation Z viewers wasted no time flooding social media with their views on the new gory drama, with one person writing on X: "I gave it half an hour but not for me. #generationz."

A second exclaimed: "#Generationz, what a load of rubbish," while a third chimed in: "Is the dialogue improvised? #generationz."

"#generationz had to put subtitles on to understand what they were saying but still not rocking my boat. No idea what's going on", another added:

"I feel so old! I don't understand half of what the 'kids' are saying, and it feels very improvised. And not by people who know HOW to improvise. A lot of great actors feel like they are being wasted, but it might get better #generation", said another.

But some viewers enjoyed the show, with one person stating: "Really good so far!" as another echoed: "Everything about this is iconic, I love it #GenerationZ."
