Darts legend Phil Taylor reveals ban he will instantly put in place after Luke Littler offer

Darts icon has revealed he would limit time on his PlayStation if he takes up the offer to mentor the teenage prodigy.

"The Power" claims he has been , who has taken darts by storm after emerging at the World Darts Championship at the start of 2024.

Littler has gone on to win a string of tournaments, including the Darts in his first appearance this summer, but the superstar is now eager to build on his early success by learning from the legendary Taylor, who revealed the youngster's camp has reached out to him.

Taylor, who this week, outlined the discipline the rising star would have to undergo in order to be successful, claiming his love of would have to take a back seat.

"If he’s playing on those PlayStations, I would give him a set time, an hour a night or something, and then get ready for the next day," he told . "Make sure you aren’t staying up late and wake up in the morning and you are shattered.

"I have seen that many, many times – players who will have a drink afterwards, they get into the drinking and then they aren’t getting to bed until 1am or 2am."

Taylor, one of the sport's greatest players after winning a record 85 major titles, said he would be eager to let Littler shadow him and insisted he would have to live with the player for a few days to study his behaviour and routine as a darts star.

"With young Luke, they have asked me if I would sit down with him. I said: 'Of course, I will'," he went on.

"But I would have to go and live with him for a few days, see what he is all about. I know young Luke, we have the same sponsor. If I spent time with him, I would see how he practises, see how he eats and exercises, how he does anything."

Taylor claimed that once he was done with him, Littler could be successful enough to retire from darts at the age of 25 - in just eight years' time.

It comes after Luke Littler enjoyed some superb performances at the Czech Open this week, thrashing Nathan Aspinall in the opening round and cruising past Michael van Gerwen 6-1 before being defeated by Luke Humphries in the semi-finals.
