Saturday Kitchen viewers 'feel so sad' as repeat episode airs beloved late TV star

Saturday Morning fans left feeling incredibly sad after Dave Myers appeared on TV screens once again.

Viewers of Saturday Kitchen were all unanimous that it was tough to digest the repeat episode after knowing that star Dave had lost his battle with cancer earlier this year.

The episode that aired on Saturday (November 2) was a repeat and showed Si King and Dave enjoying some French Cuisine as they headed to a remote town to Vonne to explore some culinary delights.

They met with triple-Michelin star chef Georges Blanc, who learnt everything he knows about food from his mother who owned the Blanc hotel chain. Famed for their award winning chicken dish created from local produce.

Si and Dave were just gawping at the food as Georges cheffed them up the special traditional meal with his very own adapted recipe. At this point the late star chimed in with one of his usual gags.

Raising a smile in the kitchen, Dave joked: "Sorry, I feel like we're the two in the kitchen. One hundred years ago there were two dogs in the kitchen looking up unexpectedly at the pan."

After their appearance, fans naturally took to social media to comment about their upset but were also happy to see Dave on screens again.

One person wrote: "Always feel so sad whenever Dave is on #Saturdaykitchen," another echoed the same sentiment, adding: "The late there, lovely man, and sadly missed. #SaturdayKitchen."

While a third internet goer chimed in with: #saturdaykitchen the repeat clips are the best parts of this programme... Dave Myers."

Dave sadly lost his battle with cancer in February of this year and at the age of just 66. The TV star, from Barrow-in-Furness, found fame alongside Si King over 20 years ago.

The bearded pair quickly became household names, famed for travelling the globe on their motorbikes, all while sampling and cooking food found on their adventures.

After his co-star's death, Si said he "will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime".

Saturday Kitchen airs every Saturday from 10am on BBC One.
