Pete Wicks and his professional partner Jowita Przystał caused a stir with their performance during the latest instalment of ,
Their Rumba on Saturday (October 19) night ruffled feathers with Judge Craig Revel Horwood who called out some "illegal" moves within their routine, which he marked them down for.
During the latest instalment of It Takes Two, Jowita and Pete explained their decision to add in lifts, which Craig was not happy with.
Pete revealed: "I don't think we should get any blame for that. As far as I'm concerned, that's the dance so far that I've enjoyed the most, surprising. I felt like I was just dancing as me rather than trying to remember steps, that's the first time I've done that.
"I was just going with it and felt like I wasn't trying to just dance without thinking about it. That's why we did it, it felt right."
Sharing her thoughts on the matter, Jowita revealed that felt as though the dance was beautiful without Pete having to be concerned over bending his knees.
She said: "It was all about the feelings and that storyline."
Despite Craig giving them a score of four, Janette told the pair she enjoyed the routine.
In the end, the pair earned a total of 22 from the four judges, putting them 10th on the leaderboard.
When asked if there was anything specific he enjoyed about the routine the most, Pete confessed it was the end.
He said: "The whole thing, I found really really hard. It's such an unnatural way of moving for someone who isn't a dancer. The whole thing is just unnatural for me. I know it was illegal but I really enjoyed that knee spin.
"Originally, we weren't supposed to do that, it was something Jowita had seen and we expanded it. Originally it was a 180 turn and we made it a 360."
Pete shared that in rehearsals he had fallen over while practising the move but was pleased it went well during the live show.
He joked: "I've never been one to follow the rules! Do I look like the sort of geezer who plays by the rules?"
This weekend, the pair shared they'll be doing a Viennese Waltz to the song That's Life by Frank Sinatra for the upcoming Halloween special, dressed as The Joker.
