ITR Filing 2025: While filing ITR for the financial year 2024-25 (AY 2025-26), keep some documents ready in advance to avoid mistakes and save time. First of all, if you do a job, then your employer will give you Form 16. It contains complete information about your annual salary, TDS, and tax. Do not forget to check it by matching it with your pay slips.

Form 26AS and AIS-
Form 26AS shows TDS, advance tax, and high-value transactions. AIS also gives details of bank interest, shares, and FD. Check both carefully.

Bank and post office interest certificates-
It is necessary to show the interest received from your savings account, FD, or post office scheme in the ITR. For this, get a certificate of interest from the bank or post office.

Proof of investment under Section 80C, 80D, 80E-
If you have spent on PPF, ELSS, LIC, health insurance, or a home loan, then keep their receipts or statements safe. These help in saving tax.

Details of home loan and education loan-
To avail the benefit of home loan interest (Section 24b) and interest on education loan (Section 80E), do take a statement from the bank. This can provide a lot of relief from taxes.

Capital gain statements-
If you have sold stocks, mutual funds, or property, then submit the capital gain statements related to it. This will help you show the profit or loss correctly.

Receipts of self-assessment tax and advance tax
If you have deposited any tax yourself, then keep the challan copy or receipt safe. It is necessary to add it to your ITR.

Check all the documents-
Before filing ITR, check all the documents once again. This will prevent any mistakes and will also make it easier for you to claim refund or tax.
