Odisha Police Constable Recruitment 2024: The State Selection Board (SSB) of Odisha Police has once again extended the last date to apply for the Sepoy/Constable Recruitment Examination, 2024. This time the last date of application has been extended following the direction of the Odisha High Court. Originally, the last date of application was October 13 which was earlier extended to October 30 in view of Puja holidays.

As per the recent notification, candidates can now apply till November 15. The SSB said that some candidates had filed a petition in the High Court seeking relaxation in the upper age limit.

The board earlier informed that they could submit their forms between November 1 and 7. However, on October 28, the court ordered to extend the last date of application till November 15. The SSB said that now all the candidates can submit their forms till November 15.

The window to make corrections in the application form will be available from November 17 to 20. Recently, Odisha Police has increased the number of vacancies to be filled through the Sepoy/Constable recruitment exam. The board informed about adding 720 vacancies in various battalions, after which the total number of vacancies increased from 1,360 to 2,030.

About Eligibility and Exam Pattern

Women, transgenders and persons with benchmark disability (PwBD) are not eligible to apply for constable and Sepoy vacancies. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age and not more than 23 years of age as on January 1.

The SSB will give age relaxation to reserved category candidates as per rules. Candidates must have passed class 10 with Odia subject in the final examination. They must be able to speak, write and read in Odia.

Only Indian citizens of good character and healthy, free from organic defects and physical deformities can apply, said SSB Odisha.

They are not allowed to have more than one living spouse, but this can be relaxed under personal law or other grounds.

The selection process has four stages-

Computer-based recruitment test (CBRE),

Measurement of physical standards and physical efficiency test

Driving test

Medical examination.

The computer-based exam will have 100 objective type multiple choice questions. It will be of 100 marks and will last for 2 hours.

0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
