Spotify is updating its artificial intelligence (AI) DJ feature, enabling users to interact in real-time by making music requests or changing the mood of their playlist through voice commands. Available in English for premium users in over 60 markets, this new update aims to enhance the listening experience.
Previously, users could only enjoy the AI DJ's curated mix with commentary between songs, according to news site TechCrunch. Now, with the latest update, listeners can curate their sessions on the fly, adjusting the music to their mood or preferences.
Spotify explains that DJ leverages “AI and insights from our global editorial experts” to help users “uncover new tracks, rediscover old favourites, and connect deeply with the music you love.”

- Tap play to start your personalised mix with commentary
- To switch songs, press and hold the DJ button in the corner until you hear a beep
- Use your voice to request a specific style or mood, and the AI DJ will update the session accordingly.
