Air India will operate daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Tokyo starting June 15, the airline announced in an official statement on April 29. The service will expand from the current four flights per week to seven, aiming to improve connectivity between India and Japan.
The daily flights will be operated by Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. The service enhancement follows Air India’s recent move from Tokyo Narita to Haneda Airport in March 2025. This shift will reduce the travel time to central Tokyo, with Haneda located just 18 km from downtown and roughly 30 minutes from Tokyo Station.
“Expanding our Delhi-Tokyo Haneda service to daily flights reflects Air India’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for travel between India and Japan,” said Nipun Aggarwal, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, in the official statement. This daily service, combined with the airline’s deepened codeshare partnership with All Nippon Airways, makes it easier for our guests to explore Japan and connect conveniently to other destinations in the country beyond Tokyo, he added.
Air India’s expanded codeshare with All Nippon Airways (ANA), its Star Alliance partner, will enable passengers to travel on a single ticket with baggage checked through to their final destination. Through this arrangement, travellers can connect from Tokyo Haneda to Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo.
In India, the daily Tokyo flights will offer onward connections to key domestic destinations such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune, as well as to other international cities across Asia and Europe.
