New Delhi: Congress was on the political backfoot on Saturday after Air Chief Marshal AP Singh stated that six Pakistan aircraft were downed by IAF during Operation Sindoor. His revelation also hit at the bottom of LoP Rahul Gandhi's recent claim in Parliament that the Modi government "didn't give operational freedom" to the Indian forces to attack the Pakistan air defence and therefore Indian aircraft were downed.
AICC spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said, "In view of the new revelations made by Air Chief Marshal today, it becomes all the more shocking why the PM suddenly stopped Op Sindoor on the evening of May 10. Where did the pressure on the PM come from and why did he capitulate so very soon?"
