Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 resumed with the match between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday. There was a 10-day break due to the escalating between neighbouring nations India and Pakistan.
The crowd was on their feet to show their gratitude and respect to the Indian armed forces for keeping the land and its people safe during times of uncertainty, as the national anthem reverberated through the Stadium.
“Grateful to the Armed Forces. Jai Hind," read a post shared by the IPL on social media.
Punjab Kings scored 219/5 in their 20 overs with the help of Shashank Singh and Nehal Wadhera's half centuries.
The IPL was to resume at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday with the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, rain played spoilsport as the game was abandoned even without the toss. Points were shared between the two teams, which enabled RCB to go to the top of the table, while defending champions KKR were knocked out of the race for a place in the top-four.
