Bollywood’s beloved “Bhai,” Salman Khan, is no stranger to box office dominance, but his recent Eid release Sikandar has left fans and critics baffled. Despite an A-list cast, festive timing, and the direction of AR Murugadoss, the action-drama managed only a lukewarm global collection of Rs 184 crore. Many attributed the underwhelming performance to a lackluster storyline, but one of Salman’s longtime friends suggests there may be more to the story than meets the eye.
Shehzad Khan Speaks Out
Shehzad Khan—Salman’s co-star from the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna—has stirred headlines with a bold claim: Salman’s films are flopping because he’s trying to uplift his friends. “All his scripts that go wrong are because he tries to accommodate his friends, who have no work,” Shehzad said in a recent interview with India Today. “I won’t take names, but there’s an actor he gave a break to in Sikandar. That person said, ‘Bhai, I don’t have work,’ and Salman simply said, ‘Do Sikandar.’ That’s who he is.”
Tiger Will Never Die
Despite the criticism surrounding Sikandar, Shehzad firmly believes that Salman Khan remains Bollywood’s ultimate survivor. “Yes, his films not working is fine, but Salman Khan can never be finished. Until God calls him, he will keep going. There’s no replacement for Salman Khan. Tiger is alive—and Tiger will remain alive,” he declared.
A Superstar’s Selfless Shadow
Shehzad paints Salman not just as a megastar, but as a man with a large heart and open hands—often to his own detriment. “He helps without expecting loyalty, without expecting anything in return. He does more for others than he does for himself. He helps with one hand in a way that even the other hand doesn’t know,” Shehzad said, stressing that Salman’s biggest flaw may be his overwhelming generosity.
Caught Between Stardom and Sacrifice
As Sikandar fizzles at the box office, the narrative around Salman Khan is shifting—from questioning his star power to examining his personal loyalty. Is his commitment to his friends affecting his cinematic choices? Or is this just a temporary lull in an otherwise unstoppable career?
What’s certain is that Salman Khan isn’t done yet. As Shehzad puts it, “All this talk about him being finished is total nonsense.” The Tiger may be bruised, but he’s far from beaten.
