Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 with Rs 1 crore prize begins today: Check result date, other key details

Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 began on October 13, 2025, with participation from over 3 lakh schools and more than 25 lakh students across India. Students from classes 6 to 12, who registered and submitted their project details by October 11, 2025, are taking part in the event. The live innovation activity runs from 10 AM to 12 PM, during which students present their projects from their schools for evaluation by a panel of experts. Winners will be announced in January 2026.

The event was inaugurated via live stream by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, with participation from representatives including Deepak Bagla, Mission Director of the Atal Innovation Mission, Government of India. The buildathon encourages students to showcase innovations based on key criteria such as ideation, critical thinking, prototype development, and refinement.

Evaluation and awards

A panel of experts will assess the submissions, with top student teams receiving prizes. Participating schools and students will also gain long-term support through corporate donations, mentorship, and resources to foster further innovation. The total awards pool is Rs. 1 crore, distributed among 10 national-level winners, 100 state-level winners, and 1,000 district-level winners.

  • Innovation activities conducted at district and state levels, with community events involving multiple schools and dignitaries encouraged

  • Schools submit videos of their innovation entries (ideas or prototypes) post-event for evaluation

The event promotes collaborative innovation through the world’s largest live innovation activity. It emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
