Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is in Mumbai on Tuesday for a packed day of major events, both cultural and political. The visit, part of his three-day tour of Maharashtra, comes at a crucial time as the state gears up for upcoming civic body elections.
Shah’s Mumbai schedule includes attending the 150th anniversary celebration of the historic Laxmi Narayan Temple at the Madhavbaug Complex, a landmark spiritual institution in the city. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will also be present at the ceremony. The event, deeply rooted in Mumbai’s cultural fabric, offers the BJP a chance to reconnect with traditional voters and consolidate its support among urban constituencies.
Amit Shah To Deliver Lecture On Veer Savarkar
Later in the day, Shah will deliver the keynote address at an event marking the 60th death anniversary of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar at the Jahangir Hall. The choice of Savarkar, a powerful ideological figure for the BJP, signals the party’s intent to reinforce its core nationalist message while paying homage to historical icons of Hindutva. The Savarkar tribute is not just a cultural observance, but a political statement aimed at galvanising the party base in Maharashtra.
Shah’s visit to Mumbai is also expected to include closed-door meetings with senior BJP leaders and Mahayuti allies, as the party prepares its strategy for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, one of the most high-stakes urban electoral battles in the country.

बहुत दुर्भाग्य की बात है कि दुनिया में पाकिस्तान को बेनकाब करने के लिए बने ‘सर्वदलीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल’ को उद्धव सेना ‘बारात’ कह रही है।

Amit Shah Praises Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis
In Nanded, Shah praised CM Devendra Fadnavis’ leadership and expressed confidence that the Mahayuti alliance would emerge stronger in the state. He also launched a sharp attack on Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) over their comments on Operation Sindoor, suggesting that Bal Thackeray himself would have supported the Modi government’s leadership.
