Recognizing the immense potential for logistics development in and around Bhiwandi city, Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant announced that a high-level committee will be formed to plan the systematic growth of the region’s logistics sector. He made this announcement while responding to a Half-Hour Discussion raised in the Legislative Assembly by MLA Rais Shaikh.
Minister Samant stated that Bhiwandi has the capacity to become one of Asia’s top logistics hubs, given its geographical advantages and existing logistics base. “By developing infrastructure on a large scale in this area, the region's logistics hub — already a major power center — can be further expanded. This will also generate significant employment opportunities,” he said.

He informed the House that a high-level inquiry committee will also investigate this incident, and strict action will be taken against the responsible officials once the report is received.
Samant further noted that the policy framework for Bhiwandi's logistics hub will be based on the recommendations of the committee. He urged local public representatives to actively participate and support the development of the proposed logistics hub.
