Bhind (Madhya Pradesh): Senior Congress leader and former Leader of Opposition, Govind Singh, has allegedly received a death threat over the phone from an unknown person.
According to information, the threatening call came on July 25 and included threats to demolish his house and kill him.
Taking the matter seriously, Singh has written a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana, requesting tight security arrangements and a thorough investigation into the matter.
In the letter, Dr. Singh mentioned that the caller clearly threatened to break his house and take his life.

The caller said, ‘Your house will be demolished. You will be killed soon.’ The call was made by a person named Shailendra Chauhan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, I request that a proper investigation be conducted and necessary action be taken.”
This incident has come at a time when political tensions are high in the state, and reports of pressure on opposition leaders are emerging frequently.
Singh has urged the police to carry out a full technical investigation of the phone call and arrest the person behind it as soon as possible. Expressing concern for his safety, he has demanded appropriate security measures.
In his letter, he also wrote that such threats are deeply worrying in a democracy and raise serious concerns about the safety of public representatives and their families.
