Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): Gwalior lokayukt team caught the female supervisor of Women and Child Development Department, Anita Srivastava, red handed while taking a bribe of ₹20,000.

This action has been taken in Narwar tehsil of district. Anita had demanded ₹1.80 lakh in exchange for getting a job as an Anganwadi assistant. But the deal was finalized for one and a half lakhs.

The Lokayukta took this action on the complaint of Shishupal Jatav, a resident of Ata Veerpur. The complainant had complained to Gwalior Lokayukta with an audio recording. As soon as Anita Srivastava took ₹20,000 under the scheme, the team arrested her from the Women and Child Development Office, Narwar.

The Lokayukta has registered a case against the accused woman under the Prevention of Corruption Act and started further investigation.

The complainant says that attempts are made to remove people from the selection list by showing irregularities in the documents. Corruption is happening openly in the Anganwadi recruitment process and illegal collection of lakhs of rupees is being done.

The Lokayukta team has registered a case against Anita under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The team is now investigating for whom she was taking this money and who else is involved in this.
