With the BCCI permitting temporary replacements for IPL 2025 franchises due to players leaving for international duty, three teams have already announced it. While Kyle Jamieson and William O'Rourke are injury replacements, Kusal Mendis has been roped in by the Gujarat Titans in place of Jos Buttler, who will leave for international duty on May 26.
Jamieson has been announced as the replacement for Lockie Ferguson by the Punjab Kings, with the latter's knee injury ruling him out of the competition. Jamieson will join the Punjab Kings for โน2 crore Meanwhile, O'Rourke has come in for Mayank Yadav, whose back injury has forced him out of the remaining matches of the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. O'Rourke will be available for the Super Giants for โน3 crore.

Mendis, the Sri Lankan keeper-batter, will be effective as a replacement from May 26, 2025 after the Titans' final group-game, which is on May 25.
IPL 2025 to resume on May 17
With the tournament getting suspended for a week due to the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, it is all set to resume on May 17, Saturday. It will start with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) facing the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The revised schedule announced by the BCCI also meant that the final will now take place on June 3, with the group stage set to finish on May 27.
