Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A mazar (Muslim shrine or mausoleum) has allegedly been found in a government residential building in the TT Nagar area of Bhopal. The Sanskriti Bachao Manch has approached the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), terming it an instance of ‘land-jihad’. The right-wing outfit has demanded immediate action to free the government land from what it calls ‘land-jihad’.
The Manch’s convener, Chandrashekhar Tiwari, handed over a memorandum to SDM Archna Sharma. Acting on the complaint, the district administration has swung into action and sent a team for inspection and verification.
Tiwari said, “ It is purely land-jihad and the government should remove it to make government land free from encroachers. Government employees are allotted accommodation in the double-storey residential building. Earlier, Muslims were allotted and now another Muslim employee has been allotted accommodation in the building which is in the vicinity of Bageshwari temple.
Slum has developed adjacent to the building and Muslims also live in the slum protecting the shrine.” The government should remove it to make government land free from land-jihad, said Tiwari. SDM Archna Sharma speaking to Free Press said, “It is a mazar in Government building. Patwari and tehsildar have been sent for verification and inspection in the building. Complaint has been made in this regard. We are making an investigation into the matter.”
