Mumbai: A major fire erupted on Wednesday morning at a commercial gala in Adarsh Nagar of Oshiwara area, located in Mumbai’s Andheri suburb. The blaze, which started around 10 am, was primarily confined to a furniture and timber shop housed within the structure. Within minutes, thick black smoke and flames engulfed the shop, drawing the attention of local residents and passersby.

Dramatic visuals from the site surfaced on social media, showing massive flames leaping from the building and a thick plume of smoke rising above the area. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

Six fire engines from the Mumbai Fire Brigade were rushed to the scene to contain the fire. Emergency teams worked quickly to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining units in the commercial complex. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties. The shop, however, suffered major damage due to the intensity of the fire.
Preliminary observations suggest that the fire spread rapidly due to the presence of large quantities of wood and flammable materials stored inside the unit. However, the exact cause of the fire has not been determined yet, and an official investigation is currently underway.

In a separate incident, a minor fire broke out on the seventh floor of the Windsor Building, a commercial complex in Santacruz East, around 6 a.m. The fire started in the office of Prime RMC Company and was reported before the building opened for regular business hours.
According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the blaze spread across an area of 4,000 to 5,000 square feet and caused extensive damage to electric wiring, battery systems, servers, office furniture, laptops, air conditioners, and important documents. Thick smoke filled the entire floor, complicating the firefighting efforts.
Multiple firefighting units were deployed, and the fire was eventually brought under full control by around 10 p.m. Despite the scale of the incident, there were no injuries as the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with fire officials examining potential short circuits or equipment malfunctions as possible triggers.
