Residents of the NRI enclave met with State Forest Minister and MLA Ganesh Naik on Monday to formally express their gratitude for securing conservation‑reserve status for the DPS Flamingo Lake.
The brief gathering took place at the Mayor’s Bungalow on Parsik Hill.
“We felt this was the least we could do to show our thanks for his decisive action in protecting our local wetland and its flamingo habitat,” said one resident representative. Community members were invited to join the event, and light refreshments followed the meeting.
