Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced that Priya Nair will become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of the company starting 1st August 2025. She will also join the HUL Board, subject to approvals, and continue as a member of the Unilever Leadership Executive (ULE).
Priya is currently the President of Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever. She joined HUL in 1995 and has worked in many key roles in sales and marketing. Her leadership helped grow brands across Home Care, Beauty & Wellbeing, and Personal Care categories.
Rich Experience in HUL and Unilever
Between 2014 and 2020, Priya served as the Executive Director, Home Care, HUL. She later became the Executive Director, Beauty & Personal Care from 2020 to 2022. She was then promoted to Global Chief Marketing Officer for Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever.
Since 2023, she has led one of Unilever’s fastest-growing businesses globally. Now, she is set to return to India to lead HUL.
Rohit Jawa to Step Down
Rohit Jawa, the current CEO and MD, will step down on 31st July 2025. He took on the role in 2023 and successfully led HUL through difficult market conditions. During his term, he introduced the ‘ASPIRE’ strategy, which helped HUL focus on new high-growth areas.
Rohit has been with Unilever for 37 years. He has held important positions such as Executive Vice President, North Asia, and Chair of Unilever China and Philippines.

Nitin Paranjpe, Chairman of HUL, thanked Rohit for his strong leadership and for sharpening HUL’s business focus. He also warmly welcomed Priya, praising her deep knowledge of the Indian market and strong leadership record.
With this move, HUL is preparing for a new chapter under Priya Nair’s leadership.
