Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A controversy erupted in Bhopal after a video linked to what Hindu groups are calling “Thook Jihad” went viral on social media.
Hindus in Bhopal have claimed that the man seen spraying spitted water on fruits is a Muslim while the one who spitted is believed to be a maulana, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by the authorities.
Locals say that a maulana often comes to the area and spits into a bottle filled with water, which the shopkeeper then uses to spray on the fruits.

According to information, the incident took place in the Misrod area of the city.
In the viral clip, a man wearing a helmet can be seen sitting at a fruit shop with prayer beads in his left hand. With his right hand, he lifts a bottle to his mouth. It appears as if he spits into the bottle, then hands it over to the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper is then seen spraying liquid from the same bottle onto fruits at different stalls.
According to claims on social media, the man is Muslim and believed to be a maulana, but this has not been officially confirmed.

They submitted a memorandum to the police, demanding strict punishment for those involved, and gathered in front of the fruit shop where the incident reportedly occurred.
Misrod police have taken note of the video and started an investigation. Although it is not yet clear when the video was recorded, police have confirmed the location.
Two shopkeepers from the shop seen in the video have been detained for questioning.
