In a bizarre and heartbreaking turn of events, a groom from Rajasthan was left stunned after his bride vanished just hours after their wedding—along with Rs 2 lakh in cash, gold jewelry, and his mobile phone.
The incident took place in Giridih, Jharkhand, where Suresh Jhajhbhar of Sikar district had tied the knot with a 26-year-old woman from Fulchi village on May 2. The traditional ceremony was filled with joy and hope—but it all came crashing down the next day.
As the newlyweds and Suresh’s family arrived at Parasnath railway station to return home, the bride casually said, "Hey! Should I eat something?" and walked away. She never came back.
After hours of waiting and several failed attempts to contact her—her phone was switched off—Suresh realized something was wrong. He soon filed a complaint at Mufassil police station.
According to Suresh, Rs 2 lakh had been given to the bride's family and to two middlemen who arranged the marriage: Mukesh Paswan from Bihar and Rinku Paswan from Giridih. Both are now under police scrutiny as investigations continue.
The police confirmed the bride is absconding, and a case of fraud has been registered. So far, there is no trace of her, but search efforts are ongoing.
