BBC's Lauren Layfield has admitted she is "gutted" she can't present her popular Radio 1show today after revealing she has vertigo. Lauren, 37, usually hosts Life Hacks, which helps 'hack your life to make it better' alongside Pete Allison, but today she's had to step down.
Taking to X, sharing an image of someone strapped into a chair, upside down, clinging on for dear life, wearing a mask, she posted: "Gutted missing Life Hacks today, I've got b****y vertigo. But don't worry, my exec @petelinney has told me there's a vertigo treatment where you get strapped into this chair and spun round really fast, so will probably do that this afternoon," followed by a string of shocked emojis.

According to the NHS, vertigo is the feeling that you, or the environment around you, is moving or spinning. The feeling may be barely noticeable, or it may be so severe that you find it difficult to keep your balance and do everyday tasks.
Vertigo can develop suddenly and last for a few seconds or much longer. Its symptoms include: loss of balance – which can make it difficult to stand or walk - feeling sick or being sick and dizziness.
Lauren began her radio career in July 2018, when she began covering weekend shows on Capital FM.
She later presented the station's Capital Early Breakfast show from 2019 until September 2023.
In November 2023, it was announced that she would be joining BBC Radio 1 in January 2024, presenting the Friday morning Early Breakfast show throughout the month.
In March 2024, the presenter bagged a permanent role on Radio 1 from April 2024, co-presenting the station's Life Hacks programme alongside Newsround's Shanequa Paris.
Life Hacks is a programme and podcast, formerly presented by Vick Hope and Katie Thistleton. The show began in 2017, replacing The Surgery in the Sunday teatime slot.
The punchy programme discusses health and social issues such as exam stress, sexual health, alcohol and drugs, in the hope of alleviating some of the strain the topics can bring to listener's lives.
The original presenters were Cel Spellman, Katie Thistleton and Radha Modgil. In August 2020, Cel was replaced by Vick Hope.
Vick, who is married to DJ, Calvin Harris, has now gone on maternity leave as she prepares to welcome the couple's first child.
