A man made a welcome discovery after making a simple check online and he learnt that HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) owed him a lot of money - and he may not be the only one. Pav Hall recently revealed he found out he was owed nearly £1,000 after completing an easy check online, and now Brits have discovered they're owed thousands.
Pav Hall opened up about the matter on TikTok when he encouraged people to check their annual tax. He shared a video of himself checking if he was owed any money, and it turns out he was owed around £930.00 - news that left him super delighted.
When asked how he found out he was owed money, he told people he asked Google if HMRC owed him a tax rebate, and it told him how to check. It comes after it was announced changes are set to be made to income tax next year.

One person replied, saying: "Got £9,200 back. Self-employment is the way, lol." Another wrote: "At least £5,000 back every year - love being self-employed."
A third replied: "I got just over £1,600 back this year. I booked a wee trip to Spain for my birthday next year. Also paid off a few things and treated myself to a new tattoo."
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "My cousin screamed down the phone at me. They owe him £6,500." Someone else also chimed in with: "Yeah, I got a nice £1,000. Bought a car."
