Coldplay singer Chris Martin offered a Hull musician an offer he couldn't refuse, but there was one problem. Chiedu Oraka shared a video of the moment the 48-year old icon contacted him via FaceTime with an incredible request. "This is Chris Martin from Coldplay, am I catching you at a good time?" the star respectfully began.
After confirming it was fine, Chris told Chiedu he "loved" his music and that his band would really like him to support them on their Music Of The Spheres tour dates at Craven Park, which are scheduled to take place in Chiedu's home city on August 18 and 19.
"If it was Coldplay and Chiedu Oraka, we would just be so happy," Chris continued. "Would you consider it?" Seemingly undeterred, however, Chiedu quickly interjected to quip: "Chris, we're going to have to have a proper conversation - you are coming to my city, mate, and I can't have you pronouncing my name like that - you are butchering it.

"I'm not having it - remember, you are coming to my city. Remember, if I accept, you are closing the show for me. How dare you insult me by butchering my name like that!
Appearing to be taken aback somewhat, Chris put his head in his hands before attempting to pronounce the name once more.
Failing, however, Chiedu continued: "No. I am only letting you close the show for me if you pronounce my name correctly."
Adopting a Nigerian accent, Chris' third try appeared to go down much better. "Yeah - you even put the Nigerian twist in there," a laughing Chiedu hailed the effort.
"So you'll do it?" asked Chris looking for confirmation. "You will let us close for you? Because as you know, there is no 'Hull' without 'u'."
"I will let you close for me," Chiedu affirmed. "I like what you did there!"
Meanwhile, Chris cheekily closed: "My name is Ch-ris - the 'h' isn't silent."
Writing in response, one to the video call, one TikTok user joked: "You nearly stopped his big break there, love local artists supporting each other."
A second shared: "Love how Chris is so cute and humble and can take a joke."
A third wrote: "This is amazing! So happy for you! No Hull without U! Love it! He’s a top bloke."
Whilst a fourth praised: "Hahaha I love Chris Martin! This is hilarious!"
