Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai's wedding was much talked about in the year 2007. From sangeet to traditional pheras, every ritual of their wedding was celebrated with great pomp and show, in which many big Bollywood celebrities also participated. But one thing caught everyone's attention—and that was actress Rani Mukherjee's absence from the wedding.

Why was Rani Mukherjee not invited to the wedding?:  Rani and Abhishek have worked together in many hit films, such as Bunty Aur Babli, Yuva, and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Despite this, Rani was not invited to Abhishek and Aishwarya's wedding. Many people raised questions on this, because their friendship on the set was also much talked about.

In an interview with Filmfare, Rani Mukerji spoke openly on this issue. She said that the decision of not inviting her to the wedding was completely Abhishek's personal decision. She called it a personal choice and said that it is not necessary that people who appear as friends on screen are the same in real life. Rani said, "If I ever get married, I will also invite only those people whom I want to include in my special day." She also added that this topic has been blown out of proportion and it is an old thing.

Distance in the relationship between Rani and Aishwarya: Rani and Aishwarya were once considered very good friends, but after Rani replaced Aishwarya in the film Chalte-Chalte, there was a distance between the two. After this, there were frequent reports of tension in their relationship.

Abhishek and Rani's film journey: Abhishek and Rani have worked together in many hit films in their career, due to which their pair was very much liked among the fans. Their on-screen chemistry made both of them popular among the audience. Despite this, their professional relationship remained limited to films only. In this way, Rani Mukherjee considered the issue of not being invited to Abhishek's wedding as a personal decision and said that this is a matter between her and Abhishek and it is not right to discuss it too much.
