Bhubaneswar: Aditya Birla Group was conferred the Employment Excellence Award by the Odisha government at a state-level function here on Monday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented the ‘Star Employer’ award to Ardhendu Mohapatra, Head of Corp Affairs, Aditya Birla, for outstanding contribution in employment generation in the state in Conventional Industries category.
Among those present were Industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg and Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Hemant Sharma.
In the last 15 months, between June 2024 and September 2025, a total of 12,415 persons were recruited by various industries of Aditya Birla Group in Odisha. Of them, as many as 9,480 employees are domicile of Odisha, which makes it over 76 per cent of Odia recruitees.
The Odisha government thanked Aditya Birla for giving priority to Odisha candidates in providing employment.
Around three dozen newly-recruited employees from various industries of Aditya Birla Group in Odisha attended the felicitation programme.
