Bizarre moment man caught walking through town completely naked as 33C heatwave bakes UK

This is the bizarre moment a man was caught strolling a town centre in nothing but his birthday suit, leaving onlookers stunned. Shocking footage shows the man sauntering through Newcastle-Under-Lyme town centre naked on one of the year's warmest days.

Bystanders were left gobsmacked upon sighting the entirely unclothed man - not even sporting shoes - on the High Street just after 5pm on Saturday, June 28. Footage of the pedestrian in the nude was shared online on Saturday. The man was seen walking past shoppers near The Guild Hall.

Onlookers were captured awkwardly making their way round the naked man whilst trying to divert their eyes. In another video, the same man appears to be dashing across a town centre roundabout, despite being barefoot.

The incident was reported as temperatures hit around 24C in North Staffordshire on Saturday.

Staffordshire Police told The Mirror: "We were called at 5.35pm on Saturday (28 June) to reports of a naked man walking on London Road, Newcastle. The man was left in the care of hospital staff."

Temperatures have only since risen in parts of the UK since, with areas of the country sweltering under 33C today, June 30.

The sizzling heat caused UKHSA to extend the amber heat alert to more areas of England.

UKHSA and the Met Office said amber alerts now apply to the West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber regions as well as the East Midlands, South East, South West, London and the East of England until 9am on Wednesday, July 2.

Brits in southern England will feel the bedroom bake tonight, with temperatures forecast to not drop below 20C, making it much harder to sleep.
