seems to be hinting at a grim new plot for Sam Blakeman.

The young character, portrayed by Jude Riordan, made his debut on the cobbles in 2020 as Nick Tilsley's (Ben Price) long-lost son. Sam didn't meet his father until he was nine years old, due to his mother Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) and Nick parting ways before she realised she was expecting.

Sam's stint in Weatherfield has been anything but drama-free. Viewers will remember the heartbreaking loss of his mother Natasha in 2021, who was tragically killed by drug kingpin Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

Jude's portrayal of Sam's sorrow as he bid an emotional farewell to Natasha earned him accolades from fans for his exceptional performance.

Moreover, recent events in the ITV soap have left him devastated once more, following his father's breakup with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). Earlier this year, Nick betrayed Leanne by having an affair with her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor), reports .

Their illicit relationship began when Leanne became entangled with the cult group, The Institute, headed by the ominous Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper. ). Rowan ended up coercing Nick and Leanne over their affair, but in 'true' soap opera style, the truth eventually surfaced.

Leanne and Sam were left reeling from Nick's betrayal. Despite initially leaving the home he shared with Leanne, Toyah, and Sam, this week saw Nick return, prompting Leanne and Toyah to seek new living arrangements.

However, during Wednesday's episode (October 23), Sam was visibly upset after discovering his father had spent the entire day aiding Toyah's move. Following Gail's (Helen Worth) heart attack and subsequent hospitalisation, Toyah dropped by to see how Nick and Sam were coping. But Sam, far from grateful, snapped at a worried Toyah, making it clear he wanted nothing from her.

In an unexpected twist that has fans buzzing with speculation, some believe Sam's storyline is about to take a dark and dramatic turn. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, viewers have been voicing their theories, with one commenting: "I always thought Nick and Leanne would grow old together. But is there still a chance they could get back together and if so what about Toyah."

The comments section lit up with responses, as another fan speculated: "He isn't going to let Toyah be with his dad." A third suggested: "He will probably do whatever he can, I could see him trying to attack her."

Another added fuel to the fire, saying: "I can see that happening, can't imagine he will let things get back to normal. He loved Leanne." And a fifth warned: "There is definitely something coming up with Sam by the way he acted. Toyah needs to watch out."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
