James Whale has filmed his "last interview", sitting outside in the garden with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. The Express columnist, who is living with terminal cancer, was seen in a rare picture on X with a yellow blanket over his knees, wearing a sunhat in the July sunshine as he reached out to pat the MP's elbow.
James wore a white shirt for the occasion, looking cheerful despite the bruises on his hands and sporting slight stubble, along with bandages on his feet. Speaking on his podcast alongside his wife Nadine Lamont-Brown, James explained his legs have been swollen and "leaking" as his remaining kidney fails.
Beside him, Nigel wore a dark blue blazer and blue shirt, along with a pair of pink trousers and striped socks as he laughed at what James was saying. The encounter was filmed by TalkTV's executive producer Chuck Thomas, who tweeted the snap.
Chuck wrote: "Filming Whaley's last interview with Nigel Farage. The bravest man I know. A legend and a friend."
Fans rushed to support the broadcasting legend, with one commenting: "A warrior to the end." Someone else said: "What a legend, love this guy."

Another fan posted: "God bless him! What a broadcasting legacy." And a fourth echoed: "James is so loved and respected by so many."
Later, James was joined by his co-star Ash Gould, who took the chair next to him. Chuck joked on X: "James and Ash reminisce about their 30-year partnership in late night radio. The problem is neither of them can remember anything."
The producer finally shared: "After 50 years in broadcasting, Whaley delivers one of the most compelling and profound conversations of his career. A masterclass in asking the right questions."
