
's Joel Dommett passed out during the gruelling The TV host, 39, was among thousands taking part in today's iconic race across the UK capital. Joel sparked concerns as he failed to shared any updates following mile 15. Joel then shared he fainted during the race and woke up in an ambulance.
Despite the collapse, Joel recounted: "Not the race I expected! I fainted at mile 17 - don't really remember much but I woke up in an ambulance!" He added: "Thanks to Frankie and Barry for being amazing. I really wanted to finish it. After a few hours my pulse was back and I got going again at a very different pace but really got to soak it all in. Proud of myself for finishing." Despite the challenges, Joel triumphantly completed the marathon with a time of 6 hours, 3 minutes and 27 seconds. Sporting his finisher's medal and a beaming smile at the end, though noticeably in pain, he managed to wince only as he departed from the marathon's festivities.
Before the event, Joel had reached out to supporters to contribute to the cause he was running for.
His fundraising page featured a personal pledge: "I am challenging myself to run a sub 3 hour London Marathon this year before I reach 40 years old (eeeek! ). I'm doing it to raise vital funds and awareness of Brain Tumour Support."
Delving into the reasons for his choice, he added: "[Brain Tumour Support is] a charity close to our family's hearts after they supported my wife Hannah following her mum's brain tumour diagnosis. Anything you can donate will be so appreciated, thank you so much."
Before the marathon, Joel outlined his busy schedule which saw him performing a stand-up set in Leeds on Saturday, then rushing back to London for the race, as he revealed he was determined to cross the finish line in under three hours and plunge into an ice bath afterward.
In preparation for the race, Joel posted a snapshot alongside McFly's Harry Judd, excited to take on the challenge together. He captioned it: "HERE WE GOOOO! Pleasure to run with this dude @harryjudd."
After disclosing his race accomplishment, Joel was inundated with supportive messages from fans. One admirer penned: "Sorry your race didn't go to plan, hope you still make the schedule and get to your gig!".
'This Morning presenter Ben Shephard praised: "What a challenge and awesome you got back up and finished! !" as Nicki Chapman encouraged: "But you did it! ! Well done for finishing and now take it easy."
