Romesh Ranganathan nearly walked out on his new series Romesh: Can't Knock the Hustle after being "horrified" by a disturbing scene.
The beloved UK comedian has challenged himself to prove some of his claims expressed in his new stand-up special Hustle, which will air later this month on Sky Max and NOW.
Introduced by Dame Emma Thompson, the series follows Romesh as he travels around the world to put his theories about modern work culture to the test.
Exploring India, Canada, South Korea and the USA, he interrogated and debunked his own material while exploring our hustle-obsessed mindset around the globe.
At one point in the series, he finds himself in South Korea witnessing a ritual involving a dead pig performed by an unconventional therapist.
"I think a 'lowlight' I did was the ceremony I did with the shaman," he revealed to Express Online.
"Where she did this really full-on... there was some animals being thrown about and there was lots of blades being thrown about. I didn't feel like I was getting much out of that other than trauma.
"I didn't go into the experience thinking, 'I need more of that in my life' really. It was certainly an eye-opener, but it's not something I would do again."
Although the trailer for the series reveals more surprising moments such as Romesh awkwardly baring it all with a group of naked men, this was one experience that pushed his resilience to the limits.

It was especially uncomfortable for the comedy star as he has been vegetarian for most of his life, and vegan since 2013.
"If that's the vegan option, I'd hate to know what the full meat option is," he joked. "It was absolutely horrifying.
"To be honest with you, I sort of almost walked out, because I found it so horrific."
Despite his queasiness in the situation, Romesh kept his cool and powered through out of respect for the Korean tradition.

"At the same time, there's that balance when you're doing these things," he explained.
"Balancing your own sensibilities against what the traditions are of the place you're visiting.
"I think it's a bit off to suddenly go, 'this is absolutely outrageous' to something that's a tradition in another country.
"But at the same time I was pretty horrified, to be honest with you!"
Fans of the comedy star can witness plenty more chaotic and eye-opening moments when Romesh's new four-part series arrives onto screens next week.
Romesh: Can't Knock the Hustle premieres Tuesday, 23rd September on Sky Max and NOW.
