The 7 high street stores that closed for good but we all miss

Walking along the high street, you won't see any of these much loved stores around anymore. From Blockbuster to Debenhams, these shops were once essentials for many shoppers, but today, they've vanished.

While some of these brands can still be found online, others have ceased to exist altogether. Now, the Express has taken a look at seven much-missed chains that once populated cities and towns' high streets.

In May this year, Boohoo announced it would be retiring the Boohoo name in favour of the Debenhams brand, which it had purchased for £55million.

But the fashion giant did not save the brick and mortar stores, which means at the moment, the retailer only exists online.

After an 88-year stint on the high street, BHS department stores closed for the final time in 2016 with debts of £1.3million. However, the brand still has an online presence.
