It might not have anywhere near the power of the latest iPad Pro, but if all you need a tablet for is to check your emails and social media, surf the web, make video calls and stream some Netflix, there is a Samsung Galaxy tablet on sale at Argos could fit the bill for a smidge under £100.
Right now the popular retailer is selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Android tablet for just £99, a £50 saving on the device's £149 RRP. Argos says it's the "lowest price" it has ever sold the Tab for.
This tablet does not have top tier specs, but then again for £99 you are getting quite a lot for your money. The Tab A9 has an 8.7-inch LCD screen with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM. That'll be enough storage for a few apps, but it'll fill up fast if you're loading on your own music or video files.
But if you want to expand the storage to carry around your music or film collection, there's a microSD card slot. That's not something you'll find on any iPad, a range of tablets that cost from £329.
We're not sure how long this deal will last, but Argos has labelled it a "special offer". Given Samsung itself has no stock left of this tablet left, it could be that Argos will sell it at this price until stock is gone. The Tab A9 was released in October 2023.
This tablet is much better suited to being a web browsing and video streaming device hooked up to your home Wi-Fi. With the Google Play Store and full access to all apps - unlike the rival Amazon Fire tablet range that cannot download Google apps - you can get Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube, Gmail, Zoom, Minecraft and any other app available on Android.
Just bear in mind that the tablet isn't built for high-end mobile gaming. It'll cope with the aforementioned Minecraft and a few rounds of Candy Crush, but don't expect Genshin Impact to run at all well on it. That's the sacrifice you make for the low asking price.

With just 4GB RAM, the tablet will also not the fastest running - but stick to one app at a time and it should do the job.
At 332g, the Tab A9 should be comfortable and lightweight enough to carry around under your arm or in a bag. Unlike many more expensive tablets, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you (or your kids) can easily tune into videos in private without the need for fumbling around with Bluetooth settings.
Plus, with Android's clever Quick Share function built in, you can wireless transfer files such as photos and videos between the Tab A9 and any Android phone. It's handy if you've snapped some shots on your phone but want to store them or view them on your Galaxy tablet.
