'He Is Always There To Help Everyone': Washington Sundar Reserves Big Praise For THIS Indian Cricketer

India allrounder Washington Sundar has said that while it isn't widespread for top international cricketers to be very 'kind', his Tamil Nadu and India teammate Ravichandran Ashwin has been that and is always there to help everyone. He praised Ashwin for sharing the tricks of their art, off-spin, after he put up a brilliant show in the Indian jersey. Sundar was called up to the Indian team hours after India lost the first Test to New Zealand in Bengaluru and he justified the call-up with an outing of 7/59 against New Zealand and his first Test since March 2021 in Pune on Thursday. After Ashwin took the first three Kiwi wickets, Sundar began weaving his web. He broke the 59-run partnership between Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell and the Kiwis were soon at 204/6. As soon as another 32-run stand was built between Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santner, he broke it too.

“It's quite rare but he (Ashwin) is very kind, especially in that perspective. Not just me, but no matter who goes and asks him for ideas about bowling or any technicalities, he's always there to help everyone," Sundar said at the press conference after the end of the day's play. “The ball became very soft. So, we had to sort of give more speed and more body into the ball, that was something me and Ash (Ashwin) kept talking about," Sundar added. The 25-year-old is coming off a good outing against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, where he scored a brilliant 152 and picked six wickets. Sundar received the India call-up soon after. “It was a great opportunity for me to play the Tamil Nadu-Delhi game because it's good to be playing (with the) red-ball now and then and keep getting the rhythm in red-ball (cricket) going, both with the bat and ball and be consistent with it," Sundar said.
