Jodhpur: Jodhpur police Thursday arrested from Jaipur the eighth and last remaining accused in the murder of a young property dealer in Kudi Bhagtasni area of the city on the midnight of March 21. SHO Hameer Singh Bhati said, "Kanaram, who had been absconding since the murder, and carried a cash reward of Rs 10,000, was arrested from Jaipur on Thursday. He was hiding in Bangalore for some time and later came to Jaipur where he began working as a daily wager. We received this information and arrested him from Jaipur."
Property dealer Chandan Singh was attacked and killed by eight persons following a spat over the mobile phone of one of the accused, Mukesh Hudda, which had been mistakenly left in Singh's car.
Though Singh promised to return the phone on the next day, Hudda insisted that he return it immediately. Kanaram threatened Singh of burning his vehicle and killing him if he did not return the phone.
Singh then set off to return the phone but the accused attacked him on the way with sharp-edged weapons. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to injuries there.
