Bhilwara: The state energy minister Heeralal Nagar, during his visit to Bhilwara district Saturday, said that all the power plants in the state have a 25-day advance coal supply and purchase agreements in place, ensuring sufficient electricity availability, which prevented power cuts for the first time "Since our govt came to power, 80 power supply grids have been established in the state," he said while addressing the media.
Before the presser Nagar held a meeting with officials at the district office of the electricity department to review the power supply.
"We are continuously working to resolve these issues, and we have undertaken large-scale work on new transmission GSS. The previous govt built 44 major transmission grids in five years, whereas we dedicated 31 GSS to the public in just one and a half years and will dedicate 50 GSS before this Budget. We aim to build 80 GSS in two years and over 200 transmission GSS in the future," he informed the media.
Regarding power cuts, he said that there are no power cuts in the state; the power supply disruptions that occurred were due to storms. Thousands of electric poles were damaged in the rains, but they were repaired.
He added, "Power cuts due to storms are not a failure of the energy department; they are a casualty." tnn
