Govt plans study modules to promote stem education

Jaipur: In a bid to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education among students from Class 6-10, the education department is imparting training to teachers.

Officials said the aim is to promote innovation and technological inclusion in teaching in accordance with the NEP 2020. A workshop was conducted by the education department Wednesday to plan the development of a STEM module for students.

"The objective of this workshop was to train teachers in interesting and effective methods, which can develop interest and understanding of science and mathematics in students. In the workshop, there was an in-depth discussion on teaching techniques, activity-based learning, and content development according to local environment," said an official.

Officials said to give practical form to STEM education, training modules must be developed which help teachers express their views and develop communication skills in students while maintaining the simplicity and relevance of the subjects.
