Jaipur: JMC-Heritage's animal management branch attempted to take action against an unauthorised dairy near Chaugan Stadium on Monday, but the team was allegedly attacked by local cattle owners. A video of the incident has since gone viral, while the department is reportedly trying to suppress the matter.
Dr Yogesh Sharma, the municipal veterinary officer, stated, "I received information about the assault later. Once we were informed, our team reached the spot and sent around 10-12 cows to Hingoniya gaushala. The dairies were also shut down immediately."
Former councillor Sanjay Gautam claimed this wasn't the first time such clashes had taken place. "There is a man named Lala Gosi who runs multiple illegal dairies near Chogan Stadium. In fact, in all 150 wards of JMC-H, you'll find dairies connected to him," Gautam alleged.
He further said that despite repeated complaints by both councillors and residents, senior officials take no action. "They simply take bribes and stay silent," he alleged. "Even if the corporation manages to seize the cattle, the same cows return within two hours," he said.
