Mysuru: Chairing a meeting to discuss compensation to the family of farmers who died by suicide in the district, additional deputy commissioner P Shivaraju underscored the critical role of farmers and issued firm directives to ensure their families receive the full range of govt benefits without delay.
Speaking on behalf of the district administration, Shivaraju stressed that every facility and entitlement extended by govt must reach farmers and their families effectively and promptly. He called on all officials concerned to guarantee that no agricultural household faces hardship due to administrative inefficiency or negligence.
Special attention was drawn to the need for educational support for farmers' children, as well as immediate assistance in cases of accidental crop loss, snakebites, and similar emergencies. He emphasised that under no circumstance should there be any delay in delivering these services.
Shivaraju urged officials across departments to work with dedication and coordination to transform Mysuru into a model district for farmer welfare.
The meeting saw participation from senior representatives of the agriculture, police, revenue, and rural development departments, among others.
