RAJKOT: Five years of a romantic relationship with a married man came to haunt a woman now living in Israel after his wife blackmailed her with their intimate photographs and threatened to break her engagement by circulating the pictures on social media.

The intricate web of a love triangle came to light in the Ranavav town of Porbandar district, with the distressed victim, Sonal Bhutiya, reaching out to her brother Ram for help.

On Ram's complaint, the Ranavav police booked Pooja, alias Prafua Odedara, under relevant sections of extortion and the sections of the Information Technology Act. Pooja not only wanted to exact revenge but also extort money from her husband Nebha and Sonal by blackmailing her.

Pooja also sent these photographs to Sonal's fiancé, Ramdev Modhwadia, and then hurled a volley of expletives at them, forcing Sonal to seek help.

Ram told the police that Sonal, his younger sister, married Malde Odedara from Porbandar in 2009, but he died in 2013. About a year ago, she got engaged to Ramdev, and she has been living in Israel for the past three-and-a-half years.

On Oct 5, Sonal called up Ram and confessed that she was in a relationship with a man named Nebha for the past five years. Sonal went on to explain that the intimate photos of them together were stored on Nebha's phone, and recently he sent her obscene photos and demanded money. In the meantime, Ramdev also received the same explicit photos from Nebha and discussed the matter with Ram, who decided to confront the latter.

Ram decided to confront Nebha about his actions. Nebha admitted that seven years ago, he married Pooja out of love. Initially, their married life was blissful, but as time went on, they drifted apart and began living separately. During this time, Nebha started a relationship with Sonal, and the intimate photos were taken with mutual consent.

When Nebha attempted to reconcile with Pooja, she secretly accessed his phone and discovered the intimate photos he shared with Sonal. Pooja decided to use these private images as leverage, demanding money from Sonal in exchange for her silence, said police.
