Rajkot: A 24-year-old man was murdered by three persons with bladed weapons after a financial dispute in Manavadar town of Junagadh district on the night of May 10.
A complaint was lodged at Manavadar police station by Ravi Solanki, the brother of the victim, Rohit Solanki.
According to Ravi's statement to police, he was home on May 11 when he got word that his brother's body had been found in the Rasala river, behind an eatery on Bantwa Road. On reaching the spot, Ravi saw multiple wounds on the body and signs of it being dragged along the muddy riverbank near a house.
Ravi said his mother, Jayshree, told him that Rohit had frequently been seen over the past 8–10 days with Ramesh alias Dinesh Solanki and had even stayed at his residence. On the night of May 10, Rohit had again gone to Ramesh's house and the family heard shouting and the sound of a quarrel from there. The noise later subsided, so they did not inquire further.
The family learned about a confrontation between Rohit and the three accused — Ramesh alias Dinesh, Dilip Kishor and Ajay Dhirubhai — over money. It was alleged that the three murdered Rohit and dumped his body in the Rasala river to hide the crime.
