Vadodara: A teacher from MS University's Faculty of Commerce has been invited to Japan as a research fellow at the University of Hyogo.
Kalpesh Shah, an associate professor at the department of commerce and business management, has been invited to Japan for 45 days as part of the international exchange agreement between MSU and the University of Hyogo in Kobe.
"He was invited under the prestigious Hyogo Earthquake Memorial 21st Century Research Institute (HEM21) Invitation Fellowship Programs for Research in Hyogo 2025," said Professor Vanisha Nambiar, deputy director of MSU's office of international affairs.
Through the fully funded scholarship, Shah will conduct joint research under the Hyogo Overseas Research Network (HORN) project, operated by HEM21. Professor Takahide Yamaguchi from the Japanese university will coordinate the project. The thrust areas are Japanese companies in India and Gujarat, Indian culture and business, and agriculture and farm machinery and technology business in India.
During his stay in Japan, Shah will also give some lectures at graduate schools on international business and global entrepreneurship.
"This collaborative programme will definitely help both universities in terms of global exposure, international research, teacher and student exchange, and advanced curriculum development for various programs," she said.
"A delegation from the University of Hyogo visited MSU twice. This is the second time an MSU faculty member will go to Japan with this fellowship," she said, adding that in 2022, Dr Rajesh Bharwad was the first recipient of the fellowship and visited Japan.
