Vadodara: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle near Lunawada town in Mahisagar district. The accused has been arrested.
The crime was perpetrated on Tuesday, when the girl was at the accused's house. The accused had taken her with him under the pretext of playing with her at his house. The girl was later found alone, crying in pain, near a farm.
She was taken to a hospital in Lunawada, but as her injuries were serious, she was referred to a Godhra hospital. It came to light that her uncle had raped her.
It was later revealed that the uncle had taken the girl to a secluded spot on a farm instead of his house. He raped her there and then fled the town. Police registered an offence and began a search for the accused.
Mahisagar police used technical and human intelligence in the manhunt. The accused was reportedly caught hiding in a forest and a drone camera was used to find him. He was arrested and sent to judicial custody on Thursday.
