Vijayawada: The man who waved ‘Rappa Rappa' placards during former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's public meeting recently was arrested and produced at Sattenapalli court, which sent him in judicial remand for 14 days. B Ravi Teja, a resident of Krosuru, was seen holding placards with a slogan combined with a dialogue from ‘Pushpa' movie. The slogan claimed that after YSRCP returns to power in 2029, heads will be chopped like in Gangamma Jathara (Rappa Rappa Narukutham). The placards with the beheading threat sparked a row, following which police registered a case against him.
A habeas corpus petition was moved before the high court for Teja on Friday by his family members, alleging that his whereabouts were not known. They sought directions to the police to produce him before the court. However, the public prosecutor informed the high court that Teja was arrested in the case, and was being produced before the magistrate concerned as per the norms. On Saturday, police produced him before Sattenapalli court and sought remand in view of the ongoing investigation. Considering the remand report submitted by the police, the magistrate sent him to 14 days of judicial remand.
