Ahead of the main card title bout, Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena shared a brief moment of the war of words during the pre-fight press conference for UFC 315. In his recent appearances as well, current welterweight champion Muhammad seemed confident about his sure-shot win at the event while simultaneously being countered by his opponent on multiple instances. The fighters even stood for an intense showdown that was about to erupt into a physical brawl before being stopped by the security and the UFC boss, Dana White , on stage.
Ahead of UFC 315, Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena get into a war of wordsPalestinian fighter Belal Muhammad previously won the belt against Leon Edwards and is down for his first title defense against Jack Della Maddalena. The bout is the first title shot earned by the fighter after his impressive 7-0 winning streak within the UFC. Both fighters are in for a heavy showdown owing to their personal target achievements within the division.

At the press, the first question was directed at Muhammad, asking about the strategy of his career’s first title defense. The fighter replied, “I have been dying. I have been waiting for my first title defense. And its finally here. It is only a couple of days away. You're about to see the greatest MMA performance you've ever seen in your life.” The fighter further added, when he was asked about his previously made comment about not shooting a single takedown in this bout, “You are going to see the meaning of Canelo hands. Jack goes down at three. He gets knocked out.”

The beef between the fighters seems real, with JDM previously stating that the fighter has been sent by UFC to save the welterweight division from Muhammad. Muhammad got back on the statement during the pre-fight presser with a statement of his own.

“He is gonna need the ref to save him tomorrow. I mean Saturday night when I break him. He’s going to need the referee to pull me off him.”

JDM had a calmer response to that, “I'd be pretty embarrassed if [Belal] broke me. He's never broken anyone. I am not too worried. But I expect a tough fight.”

Both fighters are confident about their skill sets to be displayed in the Octagon. Especially with JDM’s 7-0 record in the UFC, the bout can lean in favor of either of the fighters. What keeps the excitement intact is that, regardless of all the trash talk and war of words, the bout shall decide the future dynamics of the lightweight and the welterweight divisions of the UFC.
