Luka Doncic was in full command on the floor, delivering a stunning performance in just over 31 minutes of play. He poured in 39 points on a hyper-efficient 13-of-19 shooting, hitting at a 68.4% clip from the field. The Slovenian superstar also had the hot hand from deep, sinking 5 of his 9 three-point attempts (55.6%), making life difficult for defenders all night.
While his scoring was the headline, Luka’s impact went beyond just putting the ball in the basket. He added 8 rebounds, all on the defensive glass, and dished out 7 assists, keeping the offense flowing and finding open teammates in stride. He also recorded a steal and managed to stay out of foul trouble, picking up just one personal foul.
The only hiccup in his night came at the free-throw line, where he converted just 8 of his 14 attempts (57.1%). He also committed 4 turnovers, but his overall presence on the court more than made up for it, finishing with a game-high +15 in the plus-minus column. It was another night where Luka reminded everyone why he's one of the most dangerous offensive players in the league.
The Lakers got solid production from several key players in what turned out to be a high-scoring showing, putting up 140 points on an impressive 60.9% shooting from the field. Austin Reaves followed Doncic, scoring 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including 3-of-6 from deep, and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Reaves also added 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals in 33 minutes, giving the Lakers a much-needed two-way presence.
Rui Hachimura also delivered one of his most efficient games of the season, going 6-of-8 from the floor and finishing with 16 points in under 32 minutes.
LeBron James , though limited to 22 minutes, was effective with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting. He added 8 assists and 4 rebounds.
Dorian Finney-Smith was red-hot from beyond the arc, scoring all 18 of his points on three-pointers in 30 minutes.
