Tottenham Hotspur destroy West Ham in eight-minute blitz

NEW DELHI: Tottenham secured a decisive 4-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday, significantly improving their Premier League standings. After a 1-1 first half, Tottenham's three goals in eight minutes during the second half ensured their win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In the first half, Mohammed Kudus scored the opening goal for West Ham against the run of play, but Tottenham's Dejan Kulusevski equalized. In the second half, Spurs took control with goals from Yves Bissouma, an own goal by West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, and a final goal from Son Heung-min.

This victory moved Tottenham to sixth place in the league, placing pressure on West Ham's new coach, Julen Lopetegui. Tottenham's manager, Ange Postecoglou, praised his team's performance, saying, "Second half was outstanding from the lads -- good energy, good goals, good football, probably should have created a couple more."

Tottenham had controlled much of the first half but found themselves behind when Kudus scored off a deflection. Kulusevski's equalizer came shortly after. The second half saw Son Heung-min creating opportunities, leading to Bissouma's goal and Areola's own goal, followed by Son's finishing touch to extend the lead.

West Ham's Kudus received a red card following a VAR check in the final minutes, ending the game on a difficult note for the visitors.
