Mumbai: A 41 year old security guard was brutally attacked with a sickle by a former colleague on a dispute over unpaid salary Mumbai's Kandivali area, AP reported.
The victim, identified as Deepak Kapnath Dubey, was on duty at a residential building when the accused, Lalit Premsagar Tiwari, age 26, confronted him.
According to the reports, Lalit Tiwari who had earlier worked at the same building, was reportedly dismissed by the security agency due to repeatedly complaints against him. His pending salary was also withheld following his termination, and Deepak Kanpath Dubey had been appointed in his place.
On the Morning July 13, Tiwari reached the building and engaged in a heated with Dubey over the pending dues. In a sudden act of violence, Tiwari pulled out a sickle from his bag
and attacked Dubey, causing serious injuries on his head, abdomen, leg and head, a police official said.
After a local resident alerted the police, officers rushed to the scene and shifted Dubey to Shatabdi Hospital for treatment. Tiwari was arrested shortly after the incident.
Based on the victim's statement, a case has been registered against Tiwari under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for attempted murder, the officials added."
